W2A Design Group designed a residential condominium building on a vacant lot on South 6th Street in Easton. The design is a single block of 4 multi-floor units, each with a private entry opening off a central common lobby, which has a single main entry from the public sidewalk. As the site slopes down from the sidewalk to the alley behind, the lower level contains a shared garage area below the units. Each unit is provided a private entry from the garage, as well as a secure storage room. Each 3 story high unit contains 3 bedrooms and 2 1/2 baths. The First Floor contains the Living and Dining rooms, Kitchen and half-bath. The Second Floor contains the Master Suite containing Bedroom and Bath with double vanity, soaking tub and walk-in shower; Den; and Laundry room. The open stair continues to the two Bedrooms and Bath on the Third Floor. From the Third Floor a spiral stair accesses each unit’s private roof deck.
The project is in the Easton Historic District and required Historic Architecture Review Board Approval. W2A prepared the application to the HARB and ensured that the Owner’s design intent was implemented in accordance with the regulations. Historically-appropriate exterior building materials and features include red brick, white windows and doors with simulated divided lights, decorative cornice and trim, tan siding and black painted steel railings and “Juliet balconies”.
