Lehigh Valley Child Care (LVCC) is the largest full-service, year-round early education and child care provider in the region with 21 locations in the Lehigh Valley. W2A has provided architectural and engineering services to the former Bethlehem Girls Club at LVCC’s Fowler Center, including:
- Adaptive reuse / conversion of a 5-car residential garage into two toddler classrooms, creating a 1,200 SF expansion to the existing Child Care Center in 2002.
Installation of Exterior Insulating Finishing System (EIFS / Dryvit) on a one-story (pre-LVCC) classroom addition in 2003.
- Study in 2005 to increase toilet room facilities on the second floor of the main building, which was originally a residence.
- Expansion of an existing Classroom, increasing the area from approximately 350 SF to 820 SF to create a new pre-K classroom, allowing the facility to maximize enrollment. The new space has a great amount of natural light and views to the exterior play area made possible by two large windows (including operable units), floor areas of both carpet and resilient tile, upgraded, energy-efficient lighting, and room-specific HVAC controls.
